If you want some stuff about the un etc to show them from an un-apostate source just go to the Guardian web site and use the search facility to find the articles that appeared last year when it all came out.Always handy to have.Or the un's web site is good for that too.x

Need help with Watchtower quotes from the Guardian
by jerome indoes anybody have a list of quotes where the watchtower has quoted from the guardian news paper?.
i really dont need any jws that i show info about the un scandal to ask me if the guardian is an apostate newspaper.. so can anyone help with watchtower quotes mentioning the guardian.. some info on the guardian would also help since i dont know much about it.. thanks .

At our assemblies at Plymouth, the powers that be decided that us girls took far to long to 'go'; so they introduced a new 'rule' on How to Pee at Assemblies..the following was told to us by the sour faced toilet police...
1.We were all told to 'Hurry up, hurry up...!'
2 Only flush if you HAVE to (everyone would then know who had crapped and who had'nt)
3.They would point to the next (nearly!) available loo and forcibly steer you towards it,shouting 'come on, there's a sister waiting...'
4.Then they'd HAMMER ON THE DOOR whilst you were in mid flow ,asking you if you'd finished!
They were getting SO stressed out and angry with those who did not adhere to the correct peeing procedure.
I can't pee if people are 'listening', and also had my daughter with me,so I was in there for bloody ages;what a nightmare,I thought sister mental was going to have a seizure due to urinary insolence!!!.Once,when I was a teenager and very drunk and desperate for a wee I had to do one on a central 'reservation' of a roundabout(that's how relaxed I used to be pre org)with traffic flowing around me...Now I am slowly building up my ability to pee under any pressure or difficult circumstance...it's difficult; but I am winning the battle slowly.

Meet up in the UK this summer ?
by Simon insummer is nearly upon us and it would be great to arrange a 'get together' (wt speak) sometime so that some of us could meet up.
i thought i'd give plenty warning so that we can arrange something and get suggestions for venue etc .... i was thinking of a nice hotel (with a pool if pos) and nearby to somewhere suitable for a family day out.. people could just go for the day or stop for a weekend as they preferred and we could do things as families during the day and then have a meal in the evening, have a few beers etc .... we're near manchester but don't mind travelling for a couple of hours or so (we have 2 small kids) - in fact, it would be nice to go somewhere like wales, the lake district, the peak district ... you get the idea (just away from the cobbled streets and slums).. if anyone has any ideas or suggestions then let us have them!.
oh, and forget you're british!!!

My son contemplates suicide.
by dmouse inmy 14 year old son, benjamin, confided in me last night that he almost tried to commit suicide this week, he felt so low.. he has been brought up as a jw by his mum all his short life and until recently totally believed all the crap.
although he has not been baptised yet he expressed the desire to pioneer and go to bethel.. then, in the past few months, he suddenly woke up and smelt what he was shovelling.. my son is an extremely gregarious, likable boy with lots of friends in the congregation.
he is always invited to the get-togethers etc.

So,so sorry to read all of this,I agree that a bible study is NOT a good thing at all. It may be very confusing and start another similar problem a few months down the line.Also,a relative of mine committed suicide after seeming so much happier.She was happy because she'd ralised setting a date for her death made her happy to know exactly WHEN the pain would stop...Reborn is right.You can never know for sure,best to er on the side of caution.I would use my sons' unhappiness as the reason I was withdrawing him from any negative jw association.But let the real? friends he has visit, as when your whole life falls apart as his has it'd be nice for him to feel they hav'nt all deserted him;and it'll be THEM he'll be 'mourning' and 'new' friends can't stop you grieving over old ones yet.Lots of love to him and you.I think i'll talk to my children a little more often about how they feel to be 'out'.I usually wait for them to bring it up, but from now on i'll bring it up periodically;his terrible time is going to help alot of others-wolud you tell him that? xxx

Oh, be fair you lot!I think that although the title does not,perhaps ,fit the thread;they're still damning themselves from their own mouths.I have been told very sharply that the ones who left the org after 1975 were weak and adulterous as they sought a date and wore out ,blah,blah,blah and that the society NEVER predicted the end near 1975 etc.I can certainly use these quotes at my door if they dare to call on me again.Nice one Newboy!

Gravedancer,I feel the word to concentrate on is NOT.eg 'it may only involve a difference of weeks or months NOT YEARS.Well,it HAS been a difference of YEARS, so they went beyond what is written by trying to predict the end and got it spectacularily WRONG!Exactly the things they accuse others of doing. How can they say the lot that left were serving with a date in mind,after telling them what to think?Unbelieveable,lying gits.But I know what you mean they'll just say 'well' that was a long time ago, now........'aaaaaggggghhhhhhhh
